Hola from Mexico

So, here I am, writing not from my Purple House, but from a tenth floor condo overlooking the ocean in Mazatlan, Mexico. It’s a good place to be. It’s foggy this morning, not too hot, with a stiff breeze. The baby’s asleep and I am sipping very, very strong coffee. Because babies don’t sleep through the night just because it’s vacation time. It’s my folks’ condo, by the way. And me, babe, hubby, my sister, her fiance, and my parents are all co-existing on air mattresses while swim trunks flap on the balcony rail and the old yogurt containers and cardboard boxes Ada’s happily replaced her toys with are strewn about the floor.

I thought I’d share a few photos from here in lieu of a recipe today. Although: I’m taking a cooking class tonight so I’m hoping to have a couple new recipes to share soon!

Churros from a street vendor. Chewy and sugary and delicious.
