What kind of training do you have?
I am not a professionally trained cook. I’ve worked in a few restaurants, made soup in a little cafe for a year and can whip up a pretty mean latte. I am a dedicated home cook, and I’m always learning from my mistakes!
I have no professional photography training: everything I have learned came from my camera’s owner’s manual, an online course I fumbled my way through while breastfeeding my baby with my spare hand, and a great deal of trial and error. For every great photo, I take about 200 crappy ones.
Update: I did do a food photography course this year with the talented Beth Dunham, a professional food photographer and stylist whose blog is, obviously, stunning.

Substitutions
If you have a question about substitutions in a recipe, please don’t hesitate to ask. I personally use a variety of dairy-free products in my cooking and baking, but these are often not reflected in my recipes.
